He was predeceased by: his parents, John Mitchell and Edna Shipp Mitchell. He is survived by: his wife Jean Royal Mitchell; his children, Cindy Mitchell, Steve and Dean Mitchell; his granddaughters, Kelly Bridgeman (Tyler Parrish), Alaina Mitchell and Gray Liles; his great grandchildren, Cameron Gaylor, Cade and Cash Parrish; and his siblings, Jerry Wayne Mitchell (Eldora), Janet Sharpe Mitchell, Darlene Heuts (Bob) and Connie Rich (EC). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service was held on Monday, February 17th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 2:30 PM at the Askew Funeral and Cremation Services (731 Roanoke Ave, Roanoke Rapids, NC 27870).
