He was predeceased by: his parents, Rosetta Smith Harvey and Bobby Howell; his son Ronald "Skeet" Daniel; and his sister Sabrina Harvey. He is survived by: his children, Quentin Smith, Jr. of Charlotte, NC, Elaunda Smith of Roanoke Rapids, NC and Patrice Smith of Roanoke Rapids, NC; his grandchildren, Tracey Jones, Trayona Smith, Cornell Wilson, Diamond Smith, Michelle Pendleton, Alexus March and Tanesha Cain; his great grandchildren, Carly Boyd, Juelz Hall, Trayonn Smith, Sekani Smith, Journei Wilson and Rakia Pendleton; his siblings, Johnnie Harvey, Jr. of Roanoke Rapids, NC, Larry Harvey of Roanoke Rapids, NC, David Harvey of Roanoke Rapids, NC, Karen Harvey of Roanoke Rapids, NC and Shirley Harvey of Roanoke Rapids, NC; his aunt Geneva Abington of Roanoke Rapids, NC; and his close friend Connie Risper of Roanoke Rapids, NC.
