With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Maxine Lynch Mayton of Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina, who passed away on November 15, 2024 at the age of 86. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Charlie Macon Lynch and Mary Estelle Manning Lynch; her husband Richard Leigh Mayton, Sr.; her grandson Richard Andrew Leigh Mayton, III; and her siblings, Mary Lillian Lynch Draper, Lois Lynch, Bernard Lynch, Pete Lynch, Beckwith Lynch and Paul Lynch.
She is survived by: her children, Mary Mayton Brantley of Roanoke Rapids and Richard Andrew Leigh Mayton, Jr. (Elizabeth) of Roanoke Rapids; her grandchildren, Stephanie Nycole Brantley, William Nicholas Brantley, Adrienne Campbell and Eric Lee Mayton; and her great grandchildren, Kayla Alexis Casper, Richard Andrew Leigh Mayton, IV, Kaitlyn Nichole Mayton, Jaden Lane Mayton, Noah Blake Brown and Aleah Maxine Mayton.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, November 19th 2024 from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM at the Askew Funeral and Cremation Services (731 Roanoke Ave, Roanoke Rapids, NC 27870). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, November 20th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Rosemary Baptist Church (936 Jackson St, Roanoke Rapids, NC 27870).
