She was predeceased by: her parents, Edgar Thomas Lewter and Willie Clarence Flyth; her husband Francis Foster "Buck" DeBerry; and her siblings, Henry Lewter, William Lewter and Alice Outlaw.
She is survived by: her children, Larry DeBerry (Kathy) of Roanoke Rapids, Joey DeBerry (Sandra) of Roanoke Rapids and Carol D. Benoit of Las Vegas, NV; her brother Bailey Lewter (Betty Jean) of Ocala; and her grandchildren, Sondra LaFlaure, Patrick Benoit, Brandy Lawrence and Kristen Hardee. She is also survived by Nine great-grandchildren.
