Johnston III and Maryann Boden (Johnston); his grandchildren, Jonah, Taylor, Connor, MacKenzie and Katie; his sister June Betson (Johnston); his siblings-in-law, John Rigney (Rhonda) and Denise Rigney; and his mother-in-law Anne Rigney. He is also survived by 1 niece and 4 nephews.
