He was predeceased by: his parents, Lonnie James Thacker and Martha Cannon Thacker; his wife Virgie Thacker; and his son James Lewis Thacker, Jr.. He is survived by: his daughter Brenda T. Brickhouse (Rudy Thompson); his grandchildren, Jessica Pittman (Justin), Erin Lassiter (Josh), Chris Thacker (Ashley), Steven Thacker (Katlin) and Anthony Thacker (Monica Thacker); and his sisters, Hazel White (Wayne) of Roanoke Rapids and Mae Smith of Roanoke Rapids. He is also survived by 12 great grandchildren.
