She was predeceased by: her parents, William Lowe and Mittie Lowe; her husband Jesse Merritt; and her brother William Selby Lowe. She is survived by: her son Selby Paige Merritt; and her grandsons, Matthew Paige Merritt and Jeffrey Scott Merritt.
In lieu of flowers family asked for donations to be made to First Baptist Church in memory of Gwen Merritt.
