He was predeceased by: his father Hulus Banks; his brother Aubrey Ray Banks; his nephew Chavalis Boyd; and also Nettie Lee. He is survived by: his daughter Myra Banks; his grandsons, Ziere Taylor of Portsmouth, VA and Antwon Johnson of Portsmouth, VA; his siblings, Brenda Pleasant of Greensboro, NC, Jacqueline Bowser (Clayton), Gwendolyn Boyd (Charles, Sr.) of Roanoke Rapids, NC and Larry Banks of Roxboro, NC; his nieces and nephews, Jaquel Bowser, Demetria Boyd of Roanoke Rapids, NC, Clayton Bowser (Lauren) of Hollister, NC and Charles Boyd, Jr. of Roanoke Rapids, NC; his aunt Florence Sterling (Issac Gene) of Accokeek, MD; and his close friend Torelia Daniel of Roanoke Rapids, NC. He is also survived by great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, co-workers, and many friends.
Visitation was held on Saturday, April 12th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the H. D. Pope Funeral Home (520 Smith Church Rd, Roanoke Rapids, NC 27870). A funeral service was held on Saturday, April 12th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
