It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Evelyn Joyce Smith of Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina, born in Altha, Florida, who passed away on August 28, 2024, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Fala Flanders and Novie Flanders; and her brother Ludie Flanders. She is survived by: her sons, Kenneth Smith (Katherine) and Larry Smith (Cheryl); her grandson Scott Smith; her great grandchildren, Marshall, Faith and Katie; her great great grandchildren, Weston, Trent, Tara and Forrest; her sister-in-law Barbra Flanders; and her close friend Becky Merritt.
