He was predeceased by: his parents, Jimmie Mahlon Coggins and Stella Casper Coggins; and his sisters, Catherine "Sis" Coggins and Frances Coggins Leake. He is survived by: his sisters, Sylvia Floros, Grace Ormond and Marjorie Kleis (Eugene); his nephews, Clifton Wayne Leake, Dwight Payne Leake, Gene Kleis and Benjamin Ormond; and his niece Linda Patrick.
Visitation was held on Friday, March 28th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM at the Hockaday Funeral & Cremation Service (507 US-158, Roanoke Rapids, NC 27870). A graveside service was held on Friday, March 28th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Cedarwood Cemetery (1100 W 4th St, Roanoke Rapids, NC 27870).
