He was predeceased by: his mothers, Anna Ruth Young and Frances Young; and his brother John Darby Wood. He is survived by: his wife June Smith Young of Roanoke Rapids, NC; his sons, William Clark Young (Lisa) of Raleigh, NC and Bradley Elliott Young (Mandi); his grandson Jackson Patrick Young of Lexington, SC; and his sisters, Claire Young Talley (Jim) of Charlotte, NC and Sue Wood Ferguson (Ken) of Smithfield, NC. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Nash Cancer Center, Bethlehem Pantry FUMC, or the Jimmy V Foundation for Cancer Research would be appreciated.
