With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Susan Howard Sanders of Richlands, North Carolina, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on January 11, 2025 at the age of 68. She was predeceased by: her parents, Lester Howard and Mary Fisher Lang; her son Eric Corbin; her sister Connie McClain; and her nephew Roger Brown.
She is survived by: her husband Ira Sanders; her son Chris Searles (Christie) of Garner, NC; her sisters, Rosemary Berry (Kevin) of Perkinston, MS and Pam Avery (Roger) of Jacksonville, NC; her brother-in-law John McClain of Vanceboro, NC; her grandchildren, Ayden Searles, Braelyn Searles, Anna Creech and Amanda Creech; her nieces and nephews, John Michaelson (Heather) of Benson, NC, Ben Berry (Heather) of Perkinston, MS, Melissa Meyers (Eric) of New Bern, NC and Racheal Cardella (Joe) of Maine; and her pet Baby Doll.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, January 15th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Maranatha Baptist Church (1375 Onsville Dr, Jacksonville, NC 28546). A celebration of life was held on Wednesday, January 15th 2025 at 7:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Jacksonville Serviceman's Center.
