She was predeceased by: her parents, John Smith and Elizabeth Smith (Barrier); and her daughter Tammy Caviness. She is survived by: her husband Kenneth Ross Monroe; her children, David Caviness (Annette), Steve Caviness (Marsha) of Charlotte and Melanie Teague; her brothers, John Smith (Pam) and Jim Smith (Jennnifer); her sister-in-law Gina Monroe of Colfax; her nephew Kenan Monroe of Colfax; her grandchildren, Amanda Caviness, Travis Caviness, Christopher Smith, Madison Osborne and Khallie Osborne; and her pet Scooter. She is also survived by 9 great-grandchildren.
