He was predeceased by: his father Roy Stevens, Sr.; his parents-in-law, Dr. James Calloway and Helen Calloway; and his brother-in-law Marvin "Buddy" Willis. He is survived by: his wife Karen Calloway Stevens; his children, Jennifer Stevens of Raleigh and James "Jay" Stevens of Richlands; his mother Nora Stevens of Morehead City; his sister Gloria Willis of Morehead City; and his sister-in-law Sharon Paulter (Louis) of Garfield, NJ. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Carolina Animal Protection Society of Jacksonville.
