He was predeceased by: his wife Janice Gurganus; his parents, Dennis Gurganus and Acoree Gurganus; his brother O'neil Gurganus; and his sister-in-law Lois Gurganus.
He is survived by: his children, Stephen Gurganus (Dana) of Richlands and Pam Gurganus of Oriental; and his grandsons, Caleb Gurganus of Richlands and Noah Gurganus of Richlands.
