He was predeceased by : his parents, Willard Smith and Pearlena Smith; and his brothers, Willard Smith Jr. and Frank Glennie Smith. He is survived by : his wife Mavis J. Smith; his siblings, Lynwood Smith (Carolyn) of Kinston and Nannie Pearl Sanderson of Hillsborough; and his sister-in-law Marcia Smith. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
