He was predeceased by: his parents, James Spann and Luna Spann; and his brother William Spann. He is survived by: his wife Sue Spann; his daughter Julie Blake (Jon) of Fayetteville; his siblings, Carl Spann (Wanda) of Morehead City, Ronald Spann of Raleigh, Betty Smith of Kinston and Barbara Vause of Kinston; his grandchildren, Zachary Blake (Annagail) of Ft. Benning, GA, Madison Mall (Austin) of Tallahassee, FL, Kate Griffin (Isaiah) of Efland, NC, Joshua Blake of Fayetteville and Chloe Blake of Fayetteville; and his great grandchild Andrew Mall of Tallahassee, FL. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
