He was predeceased by: his wife Estelle Ervin; his sisters, Carole Pike and Eugenia Parsons (Gene); his great grandchild Nicholas Mercer; and his parents, Raymond Ervin and Lucile Ervin.
He is survived by: his children, Johnny Ervin, Stuart Ervin (Christine), Danny Ervin (Jackie) and Pamela Rhodes; his sister Ellen Merle Hinson; his grandchildren, Christopher Ervin, Andrea Taylor, Wendy Mercer, Krysia Davis, Kristy Allen and Deborah Mc Smith; his great grandchildren, Sadie Davis, Zane, Aidan, Gage McSmith, Audrey, Deandra, Zachary Mercer, Conner, Gavin, Holden and Elliana Taylor; and his great great grandchild Isabella Mercer.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made in Elbert's memory to Community Christian Church of Christ, 222 Richlands Loop Road, Richlands, NC 28574.
