He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul David Peterson and Mary Rebecca Butler Peterson; and his son Paul Lewis Peterson. He is survived by: his wife Delia D. Peterson; his children, David Peterson, Jr. of Clinton and Delia K. Peterson Hunter of Chesnee, SC; his siblings, James Ray Peterson (Virginia) and Mary Paul Sinclair of Raleigh, NC; his grandchildren, Lauren South Whiteside (Jamarius) of Gainesville, GA, Charline Peterson Whitebread (Chris) of Fallon and Ronald Tyler Hunter of Greer, SC; and his great grandchildren, Avery Claire Whiteside and Cameron Lewis Whitebread. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
