She was predeceased by: her parents, Robert Cox and Nellie Brown Cox of Richlands; her former husband Roy Carl Marshburn of Jacksonville; her husband James Duncan of Chadbourn; and her stepchildren, Wanda "Bunny" Nance, Jeff Duncan and Peggy Shaw.
She is survived by: her children, Melanie Pate (Edward) and Wade Marshburn (Wendy); her grandchildren, Quinna Lawson (Phillip), Hannah Pate Hall (Josh), Ethan Marshburn (Carol) and Caroline Pate Jones (Zachary); her great grandchildren, Cullen, Oliver, Samuel and Issac; her sister Nancy Hudson of Catherine Lake, NC; her stepgrandchildren, Nicky Nance (Angie), Heath Nance (Andrea), Blair D. Andrews and Steven Shaw; her stepgreat-grandchildren, Madelyn, Jordan, Anna Kay, Emma and Amber; and her nieces and nephews, Trisha Worrell, Kathy Sifford, Eric Hudson, Gary Marshburn and Kerri Smith.
A funeral service was held on Wednesday, November 20th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Chadbourn Baptist Church (504 N Howard St, Chadbourn, NC 28431).
