He was predeceased by: his parents, Eva Wagoner Hammill and Richard H. Hammill; his wife Louise Almond Hammill; and his siblings, Don, James, Fred Hammill and Rena Bost.
He is survived by: his son Brian (Kelli); his granddaughter Emily of Raleigh; and his sisters, Clara Jean Whitley of Harrisburg and Mildred Lyerly of Concord. He is also survived by 10 Nephews and 4 Nieces.
