He was predeceased by: his parents, Dorothy Morris Vick and Joyel Dudley Vick. He is survived by: his wife Elizabeth Futrell Vick; his daughters, Jennifer Byrum of Rich Square and Stacey Vick of Fort Myers, FL; and his grandchildren, Hayden Byrum and Alaiya Vick. He is also survived by numerous cousins, extended family members, and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Rich Square Volunteer Fire Department, PO Box 958, Rich Square, NC 27869, to continue supporting the community he cared for so deeply or online by.

“My name is “Danny Sexton” I first met “Ricky Vick” in 1967-68 school year in the 5th grade uptown Rich Square @ the old 3 story Red-Devils school bldg. & campus. It was the 1st yr of R. Sq integration. Ricky was a cordial, gentle, kind & generous in those trying days & years. I remember him coming to W. S. Creecy HS with us in 1971 as freshman verses attending the private NE Academy school in Lasker, NC which says a lot about him & his parents. Ricky loved music & he played the lead guitar back in HS. He performed once @ W.S. Creecy HS in a talent show with Dale Tann, Bernard Casterlow & others whose names escape at this moment.”

“I would like to extend my sincere condolences to my former classmate Ricky Vick’s family, friends, co/workers & associates. I recently visited Ricky at Eddie Harrells hardware in Ahoskie NC November 2024 looking for a Murray riding lawnmower belt. Ricky ordered one for me as he didn’t have one in stock. I will miss Ricky being at Eddie Harrells in Ahoskie NC.”
