He was predeceased by: his parents, W. B. Kolb and Nell Kolb (Nix); his great-niece Angie Carpenter; and his great-nephew Wesley Weems. He is survived by: his wife Hope; his daughter Leslie Anne Zaffater (Jay); his grandsons, Jacob of Shreveport, LA and Garic Zaffater of Shreveport, LA; his siblings, Gloria Jean Carpenter of Haughton, LA and Robert Lee Kolb of Dallas, TX; and his nephews, Jeff Weems (Micah), Cliff Weems (Mary) and Justin Carpenter (Cody).
Jerry had Parkinson's for the last eleven years of his life and was bedfast for the final four years; but he managed to be a blessing in spite of it and will be greatly missed by all for his consistent gentleness, cheerfulness and generosity.
