It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Miriam Harper Holcomb Casey in Rex, North Carolina, born in Winston Salem, North Carolina, who passed away on July 24, 2021, at the age of 94, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, George Henry Harper and Pauline Mock Harper. She is survived by: her husband Weldon Eugene "Gene" Holcomb; her former husband Samuel Wirt Casey; her children, Pollyann (Rod Swaffer) of Atlanta, GA and George Holcomb of Raleigh, NC; her stepson Thurman Casey (Maria) of Rocky Point, NC; her grandchildren, Christopher Swaffer (Marta), Barton Holcomb (Amanda) and Shannon (Miles Minges); and her stepgrandchildren, Kristin (Kel Fuller), Wes Casey, Amanda (Ben Wigger) and Derek Ihnen (Kerrie). She is also survived by 11 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in her memory may be made to the Soapstone Cornerstone Project through the Soapstone UMC website.
