With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Joseph Ray Mooring Jr. in Rex, North Carolina, who passed away on November 27, 2020 at the age of 78. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Joseph Ray Mooring Jr. to pay them a last tribute.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Ray Mooring, Sr. and Rachel Aycock Mooring; and his siblings, Donna Cheryl Mooring and Dennis Kay Mooring. He is survived by: his wife Alma Davis Mooring; his children, Dr. Christopher Sean Mooring (Shannon) of Clayton, NC, Jody Ray Mooring (Elizabeth) and Millicent Paige Mooring of Raleigh, NC; his grandchildren, Grant Davis Mooring, Margaret Ann Mooring (Maggie), Andrew Clark Mooring and Emma Grace Mooring; and his brother Darryl Brent Mooring (Jerri).

Attendees are asked to wear a face covering, practice social distancing, and bring a chair if needed.

He also was as good a dentist as ever came out of the UNC Dental school ( class of 1969). His lifelong quest for professional knowledge was legendary and I will miss him deeply as a friend and colleague.”
