She is survived by: her children, John Hughes (Lucia) of Zebulon, Deborah Ayscue (Jerry) of Youngsville, Becky Hughes of Zebulon, Teresa Grant (Tony) of Middlesex and Brenda Bridges (Tony) of Greensboro; and her adoptive son Thomas Ellington Jr. (Sylvia). She is also survived by her thirteen grandchildren, twenty-seven great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren; and by other extended family and friends.
Flowers are welcomed; however, memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
