He was predeceased by: his parent Andrew Ferguson; and his siblings, John Robert, Charles Andy Ferguson, Sarah Greene, Bennie Underwood and Betty Moody.
He is survived by: his parent Ida Mae McElroy Ferguson; his wife Marie Davis Ferguson; his children, Julie Sawyer (George) of Iron Duff, Davis Ferguson (Cristy) of Iron Duff, George Ferguson and Elizabeth of Wake Forest; his grandchildren, Cody, Austin, Andrew Ferguson, Nicholas Sawyer and Grace Sawyer; his sisters, Margaret Williams, Helen Davis (Lawrence), Ruth Presnell, Annette Best, Maxine Bradshaw (Jimmy) and Irene Noland (Joe); and his sister-in-law Claudia Ferguson. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
