She was predeceased by: her parents, Doc Blackwell and Louzenia Cummings Blackwell Bushnell; her siblings, Conrad Blackwell, John Blackwell, Stormy Blackwell, Herman Blackwell, Roberta Stacy and Hulene Totten; and her grandsons, James Alexander Graves, Jr., Phillip Micheal Graves and Stephen Lloyd Graves.
She is survived by: her husband Ernest Graves Sr.; her children, James Alexander Graves (Evelyn) of Geensboro, NC, Ernest Graves, Jr. (Goldie) of Greensboro, NC, Annette Graves-Barley of Harrisburg, PA and Gail Deneise Graves (Craig); her brother Samuel Blackwell (Lena); her siblings-in-law, Sarah Perkins Baltimore, MD (Willard), Loretta Graves of Reidsville, NC, Dorothy Blackwell of Philadelphia, PA, Tom Graves of Eden, NC and Sampson Graves of Baltimore, MD; and her close friend Deaconess Katherine Cogdell of Reidsville. She is also survived by thirteen grandchildren and twenty-three great-grandchildren.
