He is survived by: his wife Ginger Griffith Rakestraw; his sons, Dwayne Rakestraw (Paula) and Brad Rakestraw (Jennifer); his grandchildren, McKinsey Rakestraw, Jasper Rakestraw, JT Rakestraw, Erin Rakestraw, Emma Rakestraw and Izzy Rakestraw; his siblings, Ann Rakestraw Dixon (Mitcheal) and Larry Richard Rakestraw (Teresa); his nieces and nephews, Kevin Dixon, Keith Dixon, Kelly, Angel Dixon Sferro (Dominic), Abby, Zane, Tristan Rakestraw Walker and Taylor Rakestraw; and his sister-in-law Janet Griffith.
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 21st 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:45 PM at the New Lebanon Church (521 Huffines Mill Rd, Reidsville, NC 27320). A funeral service will be held on Friday, February 21st 2025 at 3:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Friday, February 21st 2025 at 4:00 PM at the Smyrna Presbyterian Church (3350 NC-65, Reidsville, NC 27320).
The family is requesting that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Rockingham Hope at 326B East Stadium Dr., Eden, NC 27288.
