He was predeceased by: his parents, Lemmie Shelton and Agnes Clark Shelton; and his siblings, Ruby Shelton Griffin, Ernest, Lewis Shelton and Roy Lester Shelton.
He is survived by: his wife Shirley Durham Shelton; his children, Shelia Shelton (Veronica Blanco) and Tracey Shelton (Vicky); his grandchildren, Scotty Slayton, Ashley Shelton and Madeline Whisenant; his great grandchildren, Natalie Livesay and Kacy Livesay; and his sisters, Ila McKee and Alice Goins.
