She was predeceased by: her parents, Currie Lee Dameron and Loucile Hodges Dameron; her sisters, Sarah Dameron Farmer and Margaret Dameron Hatchett; her siblings-in-law, S. Ryland Farmer of Caswell County and W. H. Hatchett of Caswell County; and also, Waller Taylor Blackwell (Irene) and Mary Scott Manuel (Wendell Manuel).
She is survived by: her husband James Yancey Blackwell Jr.; her children, Susan Blackwell Crawford (Jeff Crawford) of Durham, N. C. and James Russell Blackwell (Suzanne Anderson Blackwell) of Caswell County; her caregiver Nettie; her son John Reid Blackwell of Orange County, N. C.; her grandchildren, James Clayton Blackwell (Brittany McPeek Blackwell) of Alton and Anna Russell Blackwell (N. C.); and also Lelia Alice Blackwell Smith (Richard Smith) of Atlanta. She is also survived by nieces and nephews and grand nieces and nephews on both sides of her family.
