He was predeceased by: his parents, William Bennett and Mary Bennett; and his daughters, Darlene Bostick Lasher and Cynthia Roberts. He is survived by: his wife Barbara A Bennett; his children, Joyce Sellers (Robert), Kim Flinchum (Jeff), Gwen Money (Rick) and Donnie Whitfield; and his siblings, Bill Bennett, Bob Bennett, Peggy Rogers and Linda Godwin. He is also survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
