With heavy hearts, we announce the death of James Russell Broadnax of Reidsville, North Carolina, born in Rockingham, North Carolina, who passed away on November 10, 2024 at the age of 98. He was predeceased by: his parents, George D. Broadnax and Rosetta B. Broadnax; his wife Alma Broadnax; his son James William Broadnax; his grandchildren, Miranda Broadnax and Bryan Egerton; his great grandchild Devin Moyer; and his siblings, Ernest Broadnax, Doris Foye, John Broadnax, Mary Sue Galloway and Marjorie Price.
He is survived by: his children, Alma Louvenia (Weldon), Mary Elizabeth (Girardeau), JoAnn Henderson (Ilvarez), Sarah Dalton, Wilbert Broadnax and Gilbert Broadnax; his siblings, Betty Brim, Patricia Foye, Jesse and Robert Broadnax (Vernie); and his grandchildren, Angela Moyer, Sherry Morgan (Steven), Jeff Broadnax, Kendrick Broadnax, Latreece Dalton (Abdul), Niki Henderson, Cynthia Moore, Glynis Goolsby (Nathan), Maurice Moore, Dennis Broadnax, Vanessa Flythe and Christyle Bridges (Monte). He is also survived by 21 great grandchildren, 11 great-great grandchildren, and a host of relatives and friends.
Viewing was held on Friday, November 15th 2024 from 12:00 PM to 7:30 PM at the Perry-Spencer Funeral Home (402 Short Ave, Madison, NC 27025). Visitation was held on Saturday, November 16th 2024 from 12:30 PM to 1:00 PM at the Hayes Chapel United Methodist Church (111 Hayes Chapel Dr, Madison, NC 27025). A celebration of life was held on Saturday, November 16th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
