He was predeceased by: his parents, Joe Grady and Hazel Staley Smith; his wife Mary Ellen Apple Smith; and his brother W. D. Smith. He is survived by: his brother Nelson Smith (Jerri).
A funeral service was held on Wednesday, September 25th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the Clyde M. Gilmore Memorial Park (6500 Liberty Rd, Julian, NC 27283).
