He is survived by: his son Gerald Montaigne IV; his daughter-in-law Missy Montaigne of Vinton, VA; his brother Fen Montaigne; his sister-in-law Laurie Hays; his granddaughters, Mackenzie Brewer and Kalyn Brewer; his great grandchildren, Elijah Brewer and Lilly Jean Smith; and his nieces, Claire Montaigne and Nuni Montaigne.
