He was predeceased by: his parents, George Barber Sr. and Hessie Loftis Barber; and his brother Van Alan Johnson. He is survived by: his wife Roxanne Bray Barber; his children, George Thomas Barber, III (Jennifer) and Sarah Barber Shropshire (Richard); his grandchildren, Kelsey Truitt, Kyndall Truitt and Ella Kate Barber; his siblings, Ray Johnson of Jamestown, Betty Horton of Roxboro, Renee Rogers and Phyllis Cundiff; his mother-in-law Roxie Bray; and his siblings-in-law, Tammy Knight and Greg Bray (Vicky). He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family.
