She was predeceased by: her parents, Layton Cardwell and Minnie Pearl Johnson Cardwell; her son Ralph Eddie Cardwell; and her siblings, Helen Cardwell Hopper, James Cardwell, John Wesley Cardwell, Jacob Cardwell, Ernest Cardwell and Eugene Cardwell.
She is survived by: her nephew Ronnie Shaffer (Canzadie); her great-niece LaSonya Morris; her godchildren, Kennedy Broadnax and Kendrick Harden; and her extended family, Rev. Tommy Williamson (Pauline), Barbara Hooper (Thomas) and Janice Barham.
