In the sacred silence of farewell, Elwood is released into the embrace of eternity, knowing that his light will continue to shine brightly in the tapestry of the lives of his loved ones. And as his memory is carried forward, may comfort be found in the knowledge that love is eternal, and that Elwood's spirit lives on in the beauty that surrounds us.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Otis Elwood and Gracie Clifton Shreve; his wife Jewell Undean Mills Shreve; his son John Paul Shreve; his sister Carolyn Marie Martin; and his grandson Joshua.
He is survived by: his children, Mark Otis Shreve (Marti) of Elon, Mary Anne Shreve Preston (Steve) of Bassett, VA, Jeanette Elizabeth Compton of Asheville and Christen Denise McLean (Nicki) of Raleigh; and his sister Susan Joan Aguirre of Greensboro. He is also survived by great grandchildren.
