In the soft embrace of remembrance, we recall the profound impact Doris had on those she encountered along her journey. Though Doris may have slipped beyond the veil of mortality, her essence lingers like a faint fragrance in the air, a lingering reminder of the beauty and complexity of the human experience.
She was predeceased by: her husband Stephen Lee "Steve" Matkins; her father William Walker Hill; and her brother Johnny Hill. She is survived by: her son Will Tyler Matkins of Leland, NC; her mother Gladys McGee Hill of Stoneville; her siblings, Wanda H. Fagge (Dennis) of Stoneville, Kenneth Hill of Mayodan and Donnie Hill of High Point; her grandson William Crosby Matkins; her nephews, James Fagge (Caroline) and Jason Richardson; and her sister-in-law Janet M. Holt.
A memorial service was held on Saturday, December 14th 2024 at 3:00 PM at the Citty Funeral Home Chapel (308 Lindsey St, Reidsville, NC 27320).
