He was predeceased by: his mother Bertha Brayboy Staton; and his brother Andrew Leon Powers. He is survived by: his father Moses Staton Sr.; his wife Ethel Adele Totten; his cousins, Walter "WJ" and Marie; his children, Tony Ray Staton Sr. (Tanja) and Cicely Staton-Holt (Demetrous); his grandchildren, Tony Staton Jr., Dimitri Holt, Courtney Holt, Cedric Staton, Londyn Holt, Mariah Holt and Uriah Holt; his great grandchild Elsie Lynne Porter Staton; his niece Vertie Powers; his nephews, Darien McGriff and Christopher Totten; and his godchildren, Wilford McLeod, Kathy Bright, NaKecia Broadnax, Lisa Bolden and Victor Slade.
Visitation was held on Thursday, January 16th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM and on Saturday, January 18th 2025 from 11:30 AM to 12:00 PM. Viewing was held on Friday, January 17th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the McLaurin-Harris Funeral Home (721 E Morehead St, Reidsville, NC 27320). A funeral service was held on Saturday, January 18th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the First Christian Church (206 Holderby St, Reidsville, NC 27320).
