He is survived by: his wife Katherine Cobb Cogdell; his children, Joel Cogdell of Charlotte, NC, Carl Cogdell (Tracie) of Atlanta, GA and Valerie Cogdell Jamison (Craig) of Charlotte, NC; his sister Thelma Brown of Loxahatchee, FL; and his siblings-in-law, Richard Cobb and Bessie Cobb of Reidsville. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; and a host of family and friends.
