He was predeceased by: his parents, Cecil Perry and Ada Ingram Gantt; his wife Frances Thornton Gantt; his son Jonathan Dwayne Gantt; and his brothers, Melvin Gantt, Vernell Gantt and Timmy Gantt.
He is survived by: his children, Tammie G. Krites (Todd) of Reidsville and Daron W. Gantt of Reidsville; his sisters, Brenda Anderson (Rex) of New London, NC, Beulah Moore of Reidsville and Linda Kay Gantt Page of Black Mountain, NC; and his grandsons, Jon Gantt (Amanda) of Altamahaw, Tommy Wayne Gantt Ruffin (Emily) of Reidsville, Mason Wayne Gantt of Reidsville and Caleb Matthew Gantt of Reidsville. He is also survived by seven great grandchildren.
