He is survived by: his wife Rebecca Bunnells Cox; his sons, John Malcolmn Cox and Joseph David "JD" Cox; his stepchildren, Ricky Oxendine, Patrick Oxendine and Tonia McNeill; and his sister Sara Elizabeth "Lib" Cox Varnum. He is also survived by many other family members and friends.
