He is survived by: his wife Dora Locklear; his daughters, Felicia Kay Locklear and Crystal Lee Jones; his stepdaughter Vanessa Kay Bardwell of Red Springs; his siblings, James Jr. Jones of Maxton, Donald Jones of Maxton, Dexter Brantley Jones of Maxton, Rosie Lee Jones of Maxton, Maxine Locklear of Maxton and Janice Faye Jones of Charlotte; his grandchildren, Heather Richelle Bullard, Olivia Kaylee Newell and Jona Lee Chavis; his great grandchildren, Madison Logan, Sai'La Logan and Paisley McNeill; and his close friend Loyal Locklear. He is also survived by other relatives and friends.
