It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Jerry Hardin of Red Springs, North Carolina, who passed away on April 4, 2025, at the age of 76, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Percell Hardin and Ethel Mae Locklear Hardin; his sons, Frank Dewayne Hardin and Gerry Ray Hardin "Pop Pa"; his son-in-law Jason Simmons; and his siblings, Harold Hardin, Marie Carver and Taffy Ann Ray.
He is survived by: his wife Linda Sue Chavis "Ma Parker"; his children, Zinford Lee Hardin (Danyel), David Hardin (Teioka), Shawnia Hardin, Jessica Simmons and Ursula Ransom; his siblings, Richard Hardin, Michael Hardin (Patricia), Mitchell Hardin (Joyce), Chris Hardin (Lynn), Jenny Locklear (Harold), Jeanie Locklear (Tracy) and Laura Ann Harding (Allen); his niece Renee Locklear (Terry); his brother-in-law Bill Carver; and his pet Petey. He is also survived by nine grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Monday, April 7th 2025 from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Boles Funeral Home - Red Springs (102 S Vance St, Red Springs, NC 28377). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, April 8th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Hoke County Holiness Church (1017 Balfour Rd, Red Springs, NC 28377). A burial was held on Tuesday, April 8th 2025 at the same location.
