He was predeceased by: his parents, Macasco Roscoe Locklear and Mary Ann Locklear; his siblings, Nettie Blenda Porter, Glenda Aubin and Dock Henry Locklear; and his children, Alton Ray Locklear, Derrick Locklear, Eric Locklear and Tracey Renae Locklear.
He is survived by: his daughter Candace Locklear Dean; his son-in-law Jason M. Dean; his grandchildren, Kix J. Dean, Dylan J. Dean, Quentin M. Dean of Red Springs and Takiyah Q. Dean of Red Springs; and his siblings, Charles L. Locklear (Betty) of Maxton and Susie Johnson of Red Springs. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends.
