It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Gertrude Chavis of Red Springs, North Carolina, who passed away on December 7, 2020, at the age of 73, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Remmer "Bird" Huggins and Lee; her son Phillip Chavis; and her siblings, James Alford Huggins, Tom Huggins, Gearl Huggins, Elbert Huggins, Earl Huggins, Trudie Mae Emanuel and Ilar Jeanette Huggins.
She is survived by: her husband James Wilson Chavis; her children, James D. Chavis of Holly Spring, Janet Chavis-Tartaglia (Francis R.) of Hope Mills, Kimberly D. Chavis of Hurndon Va and Timothy Chavis (Marianne) of Red Springs; her grandchildren, Anthony, James, Chris, Jeannette, Brooke, Kyle, Alex and Lee Lee; and her great grandchildren, Asia, Chesney, William, Karsen, Rayden, Koen and Kylan. She is also survived by other relatives and friends.
