It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Edward Ben Smith Jr. of Red Springs, North Carolina, who passed away on December 10, 2023, at the age of 71, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by : his parents, Edward Ben Smith, Sr. and Gloria Marie Johnston; his siblings, Richard "Ricky" Smith, Charles "Chip" Smith and Diane Britt; and his grandson Brandon Dixon.

He is survived by : his children, Edward Ben "Benji" Smith III (Candice) and Allison Smith Branch (Jerry); his stepdaughter Jennifer Rogers (Wavon); his grandchildren, Brianna Ralston (Shadix), Adalyn Smith and Avery Branch; his great grandchild Novalee Ralston; his stepgrandchildren, Megan Rogers, Sarah Rogers, Brandon Branch, Raven Branch and Channon Branch; and his stepgreat-grandchildren, Jaxson Branch and Azariah Branch.
