He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Ben Smith, Sr. and Gloria Marie Johnston; his siblings, Richard "Ricky" Smith, Charles "Chip" Smith and Diane Britt; and his grandson Brandon Dixon.
He is survived by: his children, Edward Ben "Benji" Smith III (Candice) and Allison Smith Branch (Jerry); his stepdaughter Jennifer Rogers (Wavon); his grandchildren, Brianna Ralston (Shadix), Adalyn Smith and Avery Branch; his great grandchild Novalee Ralston; his stepgrandchildren, Megan Rogers, Sarah Rogers, Brandon Branch, Raven Branch and Channon Branch; and his stepgreat-grandchildren, Jaxson Branch and Azariah Branch.
