He was predeceased by: his parents, Alfred Pevia and Sallie Chavis Pevia; his wife Shelby Pevia; his son Donald Ray Pevia; and his siblings, Appie Brewer, Tressie Slate, Ester Pevia, Edward Pevia, Ellison Pevia, Calvin Pevia and Alfred Pevia, Jr..
He is survived by: his son Rev. Carl A. Pevia (Barbara) of Red Springs; his daughter-in-law Linda Peiva of Baltimore, MD.; and his sister Zula Locklear of Red Springs. He is also survived by seven grandchildren and ten great grandchildren, as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
