She was predeceased by: her parents, Arnold Williams and Gertie Mae Tilson Williams; her husband Luther Gerald Chavis, Sr.; her daughter Shawanna Marie Chavis Usher; and her siblings, Leonard Williams, Mary Lou Shelton, Jack Williams, Clyde Williams, Bob Williams, Lawrence Williams, Gladys McIntosh, Junior Williams, Glena Williams, Howard Williams and Dorthus Williams.
She is survived by: her sons, Luther G. Chavis, Jr. (Mae) of Red Springs, Timothy Chavis of Red Springs and Tommie Chavis (Kimberly) of Red Springs; her brothers, Bill Williams (Betty), Tom Williams and Glenn Williams (Phyllis); her sisters-in-law, Anna Mae Chavis, Karen Williams and Shirley Williams; her grandchildren, Joshua of Joseph, TJ, Bethany, Rebekkah, Leah and Kevin; her great grandchildren, Ivy, Oakleigh, Hunter and River; and her caregivers, Dr. Brian Burgess, Alice Bullard, Wendy Mayfield, Anna Mae Chavis, Mae Chavis and Donna Willams Todd. She is also survived by relatives and friends.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, February 11th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Piney Grove Holiness Church (1637 Andrews Rd, Red Springs, NC 28377). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, February 11th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Tuesday, February 11th 2025 at the Cherokee Chapel Holiness Methodist Church (5590 Oxendine School Rd, Maxton, NC 28364).
